Age: 5
About Me: I live in a small village in India with my grandparents. I am in Lower Kindergarten.  When I was three, my mommy died by taking her own life. I remember feeling sad and confused. My father is a pastor, and he loves me very much, but it was hard for him to take care of me alone. So my grandparents brought me to stay with them, and now this is my home. I like learning new things, drawing, singing, and especially playing with my friends.  When I grow up, I want to be a teacher, just like my teachers help me.   Sometimes it is hard for my grandparents to give me everything I need for school… like books, uniforms, and other things.  But they try their best. Your support can help me stay in school and learn all the things I need to become a teacher one day.  Thank you for helping children like me have hope for our future.

Age: 8
About Me: My father spends many days and nights on the road driving a truck, and my mother works carefully at her sewing machine as a tailor. I think about them often while I study. They work so hard, and I want to make them proud. Even with all their effort, there are moments when it is difficult for us to manage everything I need for school. I try my best to stay focused because I know education is the path that can open new doors for me. But sometimes the cost of books, uniforms, and other school materials makes my dream feel impossible. When someone chooses to support a child like me, it becomes more than help. It becomes encouragement. It becomes a reminder that my dream of becoming a doctor is possible, even for a poor girl, like me. Your kindness can help me move forward with confidence and keep reaching toward the life I hope to build.

About Me:   I enjoy school and I like reading and playing with my friends. My father works in the fields and my mother looks after our home. They both try very hard, and sometimes I can see worry on their faces even when they stay quiet. I like to imagine myself in a police uniform, helping people who are scared and making sure they feel safe. That is the picture I see in my mind when I think about the future.  There are days when school asks for books or other things and I have to wait because it is difficult for my family. When someone at home feels unwell, we hope it passes quickly because it is not always simple to see a doctor. Some nights I go to sleep hoping that tomorrow will be better. If someone sponsors me, it will help with many parts of my life. It will help me have food that gives me strength, a safe home where I can rest, care when I am sick, and what I need to keep learning in school. It would make me feel that my dream of becoming a police officer is not far away.

Age: 7
About Me: I like when I have a book in my hands or when I am outside playing. Those are the times I feel most happy. Sometimes I think about being a teacher when I am older, standing in front of a class and helping children learn new things, the way my teacher helps me now. My father spends many hours driving and my mother stays home to care for us. I notice when they look tired. Sometimes I wish we had more food or that we didn't get sick as much.  If someone helps me, it would mean we have enough food to make me strong, a safe place to stay, and care when I am not feeling well. It would help me have the things I need for school and make me feel like good things can happen for me as I grow.

Vinny

Age: 12
About Me:  There are days when I watch my mother leave for work before the sun is even fully awake. She goes out for daily labor to support us, and I stay with my grandmother in her village. This is where we came after leaving my father, because he was not caring for us and life at home became too difficult. My grandmother’s home is simple, but it is a place where we are safer.  School has become one of the places I love to go. I enjoy reading and I love to play. I want to become a police officer so I can protect people who feel scared or alone.  Staying focused isn't always easy. My mother works very hard, yet there are many things needed for my education that we cannot always manage. Uniforms, books, and other school supplies are difficult for us to afford, and sometimes I worry about falling behind. Support from someone who understands what I am trying to reach for would mean more than I can say. It would make sure I have enough food to stay strong, a safe place to live, care when I am not well, and the chance to keep learning. It would help me stay brave and keep moving toward the future I want.
